Mad Men Season 3 Excitement continues to build as the August 14th season premiere approaches. It has been far, far too long since we saw Draper in action and this season will start off with a bang.
Also… over on the AMCV blog, they’re surveying folks about what music should be played for the season opener.
Here are some suggestions:
Greg said… I’m thinking of opening to a blank, black screen with “Chapel of Love” beginning to play overtop, then the first edit we see is Betty in the kitchen burning all their wedding memorabilia in the sink.
Sixties Survivor said…”Walk Like a Man,” because it was a Top 40 hit in 1963 and I think Don will try to do some manly walking this new season.
Kathiemarie said… “Strangers in the Night” by Frank Sinatra
Drink&Smoke said… “Everybody Loves Somedody Sometime” by Dean Martin
Chopin47 said … No brainer, Hank Williams, “Your Cheatin’ Heart”
And here are a few of mine:
If they’re in L.A.: “I Get Around,” by The Beach Boys
Betty, Joan or Peggy in turmoil, “You Don’t Own Me” by Leslie Gore
Gene Pitney’s “It Hurts to be in Love” (I’m liking this with Roger)
“Surfin’ Bird” by the Trashmen, because it’s cool

season 3 started when will you post the episodes to this site? love this show and thanks for the site
The writing is smart and accurate to the times it was written for. It was a man’s world and women had to put up with the sexist jokes and their lower position in their careers. I worked in a steno pool and it really brings me back to the sexual inuendo and leering glances each morning. Also, the snide remarks being made around the office.
In many ways it was the best of times, because women were financially looked after, but it was also the worst of times with so much sexual harassment in the work place.
