THANK YOU!!
This episode was outstanding!
It feels somewhat uncomfortable to comment on this television series. I went until only a couple of months ago before even watching my first episode, not thinking that I would even like it.
There’s something about this environment, never really depicted this superbly before, taking me back to a period in my life (the sixties) that I do remember, even from a somewhat different viewpoint. (I was ten in 1963)
In this period, we have a man who is severely flawed & gifted at the same time, played extremely well by Jon Hamm, who is married to a beautiful wife , also played very well by Elizabeth Moss, who captures very well the devoted housewife of 1963, with all the pain of knowing something is wrong with her marriage etched across her face.
And Jon Hamm, as Don Draper is employed in one of the most artificial
careers, excellently drawn out during the early sixties, with all that was suprisingly acceptable then, & not today.
As I have watched each episode unfold, it’s almost as if I’m driving by a car crash & somehow can’t make myself turn away, with each passing turn of events, as the plot keeps changing, & I become mesmorized.
Again, the acting from this ensemble is remarkable, & with the haunting music score, which is hypnotically different in each episode, well, for those who have never watched this series, I now know why it’s audience is growing.
I can’t get enough of this show!!!!.
I agree completely with Frederick Fiore’s comments. From the moment an episode starts I sit glued to monitor, until the very end. This show is not one that you simply watch, but one that you experience.
I agree as well, except it’s January Jones playing Betty, not Elizabeth Moss (that’s Peggy).
Oh My God, what an amazing episode! Can’t wait till episode 12 is available! Thanks so much xx
